New to Town? We have you covered. Most everything you need to know about everyday stuff is answered below. And, if for some reason you can’t find what you’re looking for, just ask and we’ll point you in the right direction!

Residential trash is picked up weekly, recyclables every other week by Waste Management. These services are contracted by the Town of Kingston and included for Town of Kingston residents. See schedule.

Always be mindful of the nature that goes hand-in-hand with the natural beauty of our community, including bears that might be your neighbors. Please protect your trash and garbage accordingly, especially in the warmer months.

For landfill services see the Ulster County RRA or Town of Ulster Transfer Station.

Leaf and brush pickup occurs at the availability of the Highway Dept each November. A schedule is normally posted in October. Brush, other than leaves, will be picked up as we can if it is brought to the edge of the road throughout the year.

The Town of Kingston requires that all dogs be licensed annually. You can do this at the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall at 906 Sawkill Rd or by calling 845-336-8853, extension 3.

All dogs must be on a leash when walking in public places per NYS law.

Questions? Please call our Animal Control Officer, Dave Hoffman, at 845-399-6244 or email dhoffman@tokny.us.

The Dennis Weiss Memorial Town Park is located behind Town Hall at 906 Sawkill Rd. and features a playground, half basketball court, and pavilion that will accommodate approximately 6 large picnic tables. We have no clean-up crew for this facility so it is incumbent upon those using the park to leave the park neat and clean. There are no bathroom facilities. The pavilion may only be reserved through the Town Clerk's office by calling 845-336-8853, extension 3 or emailing clerk@tokny.us.

In the event of any emergency, always call 911 first.
