OUR VETERANS

The Town of Kingston is very proud of the service to our country provided by our veterans.  Names of all our veterans who are no longer with us or have moved away are noted on the “Wall of Heroes” in the town hall.  All have lived in the town at one time.  Each era or war is represented.  These names go back to the Civil War and right up to the present.  We have those who have received the Purple Heart (town resident, Fred Sutter and Rufus Curtis) and the Silver Star (Lester Wood) as well as veterans from the Spanish-American War.  Herbert Dixon, who was a WWII prisoner of war, is among those honored.

A total of 210 veterans have served from our town and there are 56 veterans buried in St. Ann’s Cemetery.
